I am a paddleboard/SUP instructor and SUP Yoga teacher. I offer one-on-one and small group classes June through September (paddleboard provided for extra fee or bring yours). Previous paddling or yoga experience is not required. SUP Yoga will make familiar poses feel different. It's fun to take your practice outdoors, but especially on the surface of water. Just imagine Savasana with the sound of waves gently rocking your board...
A FEW THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOUR FIRST CLASS: SUP Yoga is suitable for beginners. A 90 min class starts on land with basic safety instruction and paddling techniques. You’ll learn how to get on the board, paddle seated, kneeling and standing, anchor for your yoga class and modify some yoga poses. Ability to swim is required. Please be comfortable with the idea of falling into the water (it happens sometimes!).
Wear comfortable quick-dry athletic clothes suitable for weather (it may get windier and feel cooler on the water) and sunscreen. Secured hat and sunglasses with a strap are recommended (please remember that there’s always a chance of things falling into the water, so leave valuable items at home). Please bring a towel, change of clothes and water bottle.
If you have a favorite life jacket, please bring it too. Otherwise, I will provide you with a life jacket and a paddle board (unless you are bringing your own SUP).
Cancellations: The class can be cancelled due to the weather. I will notify you of any changes as soon as possible. Please give me at least 24-hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Thank you!
